[Laszlo-user] which type of resource file should i use

Among the types you mention, SWF is the only vector based format I believe.
This means you can draw all your graphics
and be able to scale them down without losing quality. I think that is why
many laszlo examples use SWF for even graphics
besides animation.
I like that approach, although I have not been able to find a decent SWF
editor in Linux (don't want to use windows flash).
