You may want to take a look at what we are working on at   
webapplica.org.  In the Arcticfusion project we have built a  
generator that using ant, will build both simple java pojo's and  
laszlo xml from database structures.  Since the generator code itself  
is Java, it could probably be altered easily enough to do what you  
want.. just bear in mind the project is still a developer's
