So, this is a little complex.  Your fix for 8200 is based on the fix  
for 8218 already being checked in, which is based on the fix for 8210  
already being checked in. I'm concerned that if I take your fix in  
isolation, it's not going to solve the whole problem.  But neither  
8210 nor 8218 is slated for 4.4.  Perhaps they should be?  And, 8218  
has only two parts of the fix implemented so far.

I propose integrating r14021, r14043, r14047, and r14067 (i.e., taking  
all the fixes for all three bugs).

Any guidance?
