Max,

Can we keep the "application" name to be "test" in all the test  
files?  Then I don't have to do special setup of the media server for  
each test.  Other than that, this looks good to check in, on the  
premise that it is better than what is there with no regressions that  
i can see.    I don't see the issue that you describe with recording.   
I'm testing with Red5 and it works as expected for me.

I'm not feeling confident to update videoview to the modern LZX  
syntax.  If you can do that, I'll dig into some of the open bugs.    
Sorry I've been incommunicado... got sick, but I'm feeling better now  
-- at least up to coding, if not yet leaving the house :)
