Hey, Tucker.  Here is my proposal for adding to the grid components API.

The proposal :

(Code change is included.)

Justification:

These additions add three things:

+ Creation of attribute "showvscroll", to determine whether the  
vertical scroll should or should not be visible.
+ Creation of setter setContentdatapath, to set the value of  
"contentdatapath" on the basegrid.

It's currently impossible to hide the vertical scrollbar if desired.   
This change allows for such, and adds consistency in that it's  
currently possible to hide the horizontal scrollbar using a similar  
attribute.

If one wishes to set the contentdatapath, there is currently no setter  
for the attribute.  This adds one.

There is really no other sensible way to accomplish this than with  
these changes.
