I believe you want to use the IE developer toolbar instead of the script
debugger.  Microsoft has deprecated use of the script debugger even though
it is still available.

There is the Microsoft Script Debugger. At least that used to work for me in
IE6.

Installing it is a little tricky, it would not seem to work until I found a
menu item in 
the "advanced" internet options menu, that said to enable script debugging.
Then I had to restart IE, or maybe reboot my machine, I can't recall.  But
then it worked, the 
first time there was an error it offered a dialog to run the script
debugger, and it
had some options, like ability to inspect the stack. It was pretty lousy,
but it may have improved since I tried it last.
