Hi all,
This is my first post on this mailing-list and I have actually joined
the list about 5 minutes ago. I have done a bit of research about this
bug before posting it here, but haven't found much. The mailing-list
archives don't seem to be searchable, so if there is a way to search the
archives and the answer to my question is there, don't hesitate to let
me know.
We are using a SVN snapshot of OpenLaszlo that could be located "between
3.4 and 4.0" (it's actually difficult to know because it's been used and
manipulated for almost a year now without much help of the initial
developer).
When using a Videoconference application built in this version of
OpenLaszlo, using Red5 as a streaming server, we have sound echoing
problems (each user can hear himself after 2-3 seconds) which is quite
annoying to our application users.
Apparently [1] the problem is known for OpenLaszlo 4.0 but wasn't
present in 3.4.0.
What I would like to know is if this problem is known over here and, if
so, if there is a fix to it.
I don't particularly like going into a lot of details regarding the
application and the versions of all its sub-elements, but I will do it
gladfully if that really helps understanding the problem.
I'm taking this opportunity to mention that Openaszlo is very
interesting and a lot can be done easily. We are generating the
interface in Flash because we don't think there is a way to handle video
streaming for videoconference in JS/DHTML, but if you know otherwise, I
wouldn't mind a hint or two. The application (GPL'ed) is kind of a fork
of OpenMeetings (I *think* it's actually the other way around but I'm
not sure about that) and we are now rebuilding it to get the code
structured a bit, but that isn't the cause of the echo bug.
Thanks in advance,
Yannick Warnier
