Hi all!
I'm Oliver Steele. I've been with Laszlo since late 2001. I work
especially on the language design, the compiler, and developer tools
such as the debugger design and the Krank feature. I also work for the
doc guy, and vice versa. I'm interested in programming languages and
in graphics libraries, so I'm pretty happy hear where I get to do some
of each. I've worked on a few open source projects before, but I never
thought I could afford to do it full time :-)
Henry Minsky, John Sundman, P T Withington, and I are the Boston
development team. Two of us worked for Symbolics, two of us worked at
Curl, and two of us worked on Dylan (but not the same two!), so we're
mostly dynamic language compiler and runtime guys. Two of us juggle
too :-)
To Bryan: I sometimes feel intimidated because I'm not a designer. One
thing I like about Laszlo Systems is that designers are first-class
citizens too; I'm hoping we can extend this to the Laszlo developer
community too. I'm excited about the idea of a visual editor because
it would open up the platform for more designers.
I'm also excited about getting our work into the hands of people who
like it, instead of just those who already have a targeted project that
can justify paying the $$ for a server license. I look forward to
helping anyone who cares to understand enough of the architecture of
the system to do what they want with it.
I'm on the web at http://osteele.com.
Best,
Oliver
