Hello there fellow Laszloians, my name is Chris Greenwell. I am a 27 year
development vet who has recently taken up interest in your great LPS.

Some quick background on me, I am the owner /operator of KoolKam Industries
Inc. (create realtime special effects webcam broadcasting software as well
as enterprise level webcam software that ties into a exisiting user database
with the look and feel of there exisiting site)

I am reasonably good in quite a few languages from Delphi to PHP and many
others in between but most of my real skill is in engineering /problem
solving. I am also a reasonably good graphic artist/photographer /3d
modeler. That's me :-)

So now what do I want with you and your fantastic product! Well for one
thing I am interested in helping out and providing some components and
othersuch that are missing. Being in the live streaming video field my
first thing I want to create is a simple http://ip:port/cam.jpg image pull
system that can grab a image at 4fps if the network conditions will allow
(otherwise just grabs as fast as it can). Now I have already created such
a piece for use but it is in flash, but it works in your framework. From
what I am reading though , how it works in your framework is gonna be
removed due to making it hard to troubleshoot apps if they use this system.
What I am talking about is the removal of the ability to do the scripting in
the flash language from the swf output. Now currently all I need for my
system to be working the way I want is to pass a variable into the Laszlo
component that holds the flash and I am off to the races. OR if someone
could show/guide me in the Laszlo way with the Laszlo language I would be
really happy to do it like that as well ( I remember reading a post about
how everything could be done with the Laszlo language and that is also why
the internal flash script was gonna possibly be removed).

Next thing I want to do , is build a ebuild of Laszlo for Gentoo. I think
this will be a great way to get the server platform out and into the hands
of many willing and able developers and a simple 'emerge Laszlo' and you
have a working dev environment would go a long way in helping that.

I have also been working a lot with Xoops, phpnuke, dotnetnuke and other
such and I think a front end app in Laszlo would really be sweet for those
as well.

Anyways those are my current plans for your wonderfull LPS, great work guys
and gals!!

I really hope you don't decide to remove the flashscript ability from your
system all it needs is way to pass a variable ( it might already be there
and I just don't know how to do it) and my video framework system is 95%
done for your LPS.

Also I have a demo I can put up so you can see how it currently works if any
of you are interested :-)

Looking forward to working and interacting with you all

Chris Greenwell
